Appliances Developed To Cut Home Fuel Consumption
Uncategorized August 6th, 2011Any major appliance made within the last 5-10 years has been made to save energy. Everywhere you go you see the Energy Star ratings on them. The Energy Star rating is on appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines to name a few. The better the rating the more energy you save. Usually these appliances have seemingly 2 price tags on them. One shows the price of the appliance and the other shows how much energy cost you’ll avoid each year.
What qualifies an appliance for the Energy Star rating? Many things. Each appliance is different. For washing machines it means nearly half the water usage, less wear and tear on clothing and removes more water from the clothing making it easier for your dryer to dry them. Refrigerators qualify for the Energy Star rating when they are insulated better, have better and more efficient compressors and the ability for you to more precisely control temperature and defrost setting. Dishwashers are now made to use less energy to clean the dishes by reducing the amount of water that the built in heater has to heat.
Take all of your needs into consideration when you go shopping for a new appliance.
